1. COOKIES AND OTHER TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies and other similar mechanisms to learn how users use our Website and for marketing purposes, including to display advertisements to them elsewhere on the Internet.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file saved by a website on your computer, phone or other device on which you browse the website. The cookie contains data about your use of that site.

Some cookies are essential for our Store to function and cannot be disabled.
In other cases, when you first visit our Website, we ask for your consent to install cookies. We do not use advertising or analytical cookies (or any other than necessary) without your consent.

What cookies do we use?

  1. Essential cookies
    • These cookies are used for the proper functioning of the site. You cannot disable them because if you disable them, our site will simply not function correctly.
    • In this regard, we use a tool that stores your privacy settings. It shows your consent or lack thereof for running individual types of cookies on our site.
    • Other essential cookies on our Website are used for its proper functioning and management, including making changes to the site and launching tracking tools to which you consent.
  2. Statistical analysis of our Website
    • We use tools that collect analytical data, thanks to which we can understand how users use our Website. The data we receive from these tools do not provide us with information about a specific person known by name, but allow us to record various aspects of the Website's use by a given user. We can aggregate and analyze this data statistically, and then use it to make decisions about changes in our Store and/or in the ways we conduct our advertising and marketing communications.
    • A list of analytical tools we use on the Website, along with an explanation of: (1) who is the tool provider, (2) what it is specifically used for, (3) what data is collected within a given tool – can be found in  Appendix 1 to this policy, and in summary in the cookie consent management panel.
  3. Advertising cookies
    • We use advertising tools to display our ads on other sites you visit, including social media (so-called targeted ads), measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, and tailor the content of our communications to you based on the information we have about you.
    • In the Store, we allow you to subscribe to our newsletter. Therefore, cookies are used to embed the subscription form on our Website and to measure the effectiveness of subscriptions in this form. Modern e-mail marketing systems allow us to combine analytical data from mailing campaigns with analytical data from the Store. We can use this data to optimize the content of messages sent to newsletter subscribers.
    • A list of advertising tools we use on the Website, along with an explanation of: (1) who is the tool provider, (2) what it is specifically used for – can be found in  Appendix 1 to this policy, and in summary in the cookie consent management panel.
  4. Functional cookies
    • Some cookies on our site are used to launch additional tools on the Store's website, such as a chat, a module for adding product reviews and/or stars, the ability to recommend a product to a friend, the ability to display recently viewed products in our Store, etc.
    • A list of functional tools we use on the Website, along with an explanation of what they are specifically used for, can be found in the cookie consent management panel.
  5. Videos
    • Some videos on the Website are embedded using plugins from YouTube [a service owned by Google] / plugins from Instagram [owned by Meta Platforms] / plugins from TikTok. When you play such a video on our Site, Google / Instagram / TikTok receives information about it from your browser, even if you do not have a Google/YouTube profile / even if you do not have an Instagram profile / even if you do not have a TikTok profile, or are not currently logged in. If you have previously logged in to the aforementioned service, this service provider will be able to directly link the video playback to your profile.
    • If you want to prevent Google / Instagram / TikTok from collecting information about your activity on our Site, you can:
      • not play the video (Your consent to play the video will be treated as consent also for other videos on our Website - until you revoke it, i.e., change your cookie choices),
      • not consent to cookies from this service on our Website,
      • or you can log out of this service.
    • More information about data processing by YouTube / Instagram / TikTok can be found at https://www.youtube.com/account_privacy / https://help.instagram.com/help/instagram/1896641480634370/?locale=pl_PL / https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/eea/privacy-policy/pl-PL.

Legal issues regarding cookies

The legal basis for the Store's use of essential cookies (indicated above in the "What cookies do we use?" section) is our legitimate interest, i.e., the right to operate a Website supporting our business, and the need to maintain its security.
The legal basis for our use of other cookies is your consent.

In connection with our processing of your personal data using cookies, you always have the rights we describe in the section Your rights in connection with data processing.

Our use of cookies, especially for advertising purposes, may involve so-called profiling. This means that we or the marketing companies whose services we use may create a user profile based on collected information (e.g., email address, order history, device type, technology used, frequency of visits) and, on this basis, formulate future purchasing predictions. This allows us to make decisions about what content (including advertisements) to display on our and other websites.

How long do cookies remain on the user's device?

It depends on whether they are "persistent" or "session" files. Session cookies, i.e., information necessary for browser functionalities to work correctly, expire after the user's session ends, i.e., each time you close our Website. Persistent cookies, which make using the site easier (e.g., they remember selected resolution, content layout, user preferences, recently viewed products), will be stored by the browser for a longer period and will remain there until their expiration date, unless you delete them earlier using the browser's menu settings.

Third-party cookies (i.e., analytical, advertising, and social media related) are subject to their own privacy policies, to which we provide links in this policy.

2. Other purposes of processing personal data of Store users

  • object to the processing of your data if we process it on the basis of a legitimate interest;
  • restrict data processing;
  • lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office if you believe that your data is being processed by us unlawfully.

Additional information for newsletter subscribers

If you have subscribed to our newsletter, we will send you marketing information about our products and/or services, e.g., about new additions to our offer, promotions, or special offers.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in each newsletter or by simply writing us a message.

A modern email marketing system allows us to analyze recipient actions, i.e., it tells us whether a particular message has been opened by you. We analyze such information to better adapt the content of the newsletter and notifications to your interests and to send you personalized messages (profiling). You can object to such processing of your data by us at any time. In the event of subscriber inactivity for 14 months, we may cease sending them the newsletter. In such a case, we will remove you from our subscriber list (with additional notice).

Your data is not used by us to make decisions based on automated data processing that could affect your legal situation or cause other similarly significant consequences for you.

APPENDIX NO. 1 TO THE SHOP PRIVACY POLICY Hermetica Aurum
- LIST OF ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICAL TOOLS USING COOKIES

  1. ANALYTICAL COOKIES:
    1. We use Google Analytics
      • The information Google Analytics collects about users includes, for example: how many times the user visits the site; which subpages they visit; the date of the first and last visit; the duration of the visit; the page from which the user visited the site (source of arrival); the browser the user uses; the link that was clicked; the location in the world from which the user accesses; an anonymized (shortened) IP address, etc.
      • Google assigns its own identifier (the so-called Google ID) to individual users and collects data obtained from cookies from various websites on its servers. We – as the owner of the Website – can receive reports (statistics) from Google related solely to traffic on our Website. These reports, of course, include only those who have given their consent on our Website for Google Analytics to record their visits.
      • Further detailed information on how Google Analytics works can be found at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245/data-security.
      • You can also permanently prevent Google Analytics from recording information from your browser by installing a special plugin found at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
    2. Cookies from our Shop's software provider
      • The software provider, thanks to which our Shop functions - i.e., the owner of the shopify.com platform - places cookies on our Website to collect aggregated information about how customers use online stores (subpages opened and time spent on them, products displayed, clicks on the Shop's website, analytical information regarding purchases, e.g., conversion rates).
      • This data is used to create aggregated reports for e-shop owners, containing general (without personal data) information, among other things, about what products interest customers of a given store, during what period of the year there is increased traffic or sales in stores, etc. Thanks to this, sellers (including us) can improve their stores and optimize sales processes.
      • You can read the full information on this topic in the Cookie Policy https://www.shopify.com/pl/legal/cookies

        ADVERTISING COOKIES
    1. We use Google Ads and other Google advertising tools
      • Google collects data on its servers obtained from cookies placed on your device. This data is collected on all pages where you have allowed Google to use cookies for advertising purposes (including on our Website), as well as from ads you have clicked on. Google uses this information to display ads on other pages you visit. Typically, cookies from Google expire after 3 months.
      • As advertisers using Google services, we do not have access to data from cookies stored on your device, but we can place ads to groups of recipients with characteristics we have selected, e.g., to all people who have visited our website (or a specific subpage of it) in the last 7 days. This data is only statistical material for us, and we place ads only based on aggregated criteria (to specific target groups, not to a specific user).
      • We can also use (as part of using Google Marketing Platform) tools to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns (e.g., how many people clicked on a given ad within a certain time).
      • You can read more about how Google uses cookies to display ads and how you can manage your ad settings at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=pl and https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/7549925?hl=pl.
    2. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) conversion pixel
      • We use the so-called "conversion pixel" (remarketing pixel) from Meta to manage ads on Facebook and Instagram.
      • If you consent to the use of this cookie on our Website, then through this tool, Meta Platforms services receive information that you have visited our Website. This information is assigned to your profile on the given service, if you have one. If you are not a user of these services, then the information is assigned to a "Facebook ID" created for you.
      • Thanks to this, we can place ads on Facebook and Instagram for people who have already visited our Website or its individual subpages (remarketing). We then receive only statistical data from Meta Platforms regarding the effectiveness of ads (e.g., how many people saw our ad, how many people clicked on it), without reference to specific users.
      • If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, we encourage you to read more information about data protection on these services on the pages https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/?entry_point%3Ddata_policy_redirect%26entry%3D0&sa=D and https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388.
      • You can read more about the Meta remarketing pixel on the page https://www.facebook.com/business/help/742478679120153?id=1205376682832142.
    3. Email marketing
      • For newsletter purposes, we use a tool provided by an external company.
      • The email marketing system places cookies on our Website to display subscription forms and to measure the effectiveness of these forms (conversion rate).
